Fire Protection

WA Gutter Guard offers a way to drastically reduce the risk of your home catching fire by preventing leaves and debris or embers getting into your gutters.

Reducing bushfire risk

Every summer in Australia there are bushfires.

Leaf litter can catch fire just from one spark and spread quickly. Sparks and embers can travel a great distance ahead of a bushfire, igniting the leaf litter.

At least two WA State authorities recommend the use of a METAL mesh gutter guard in fire-prone areas.

WA Gutter Guard also offers ember flashing as an additional barrier to the entry of flammable leaves, debris and flying embers.

Ember flashing

A specially shaped flashing strip, matching the profile of your roofing material, is used to block the entry of small particles and airborne embers.

Ember flashing is fitted to the roof hips and ridges to block the entry of airborne particles into the roof space.

This video shows how our custom profile ember flashing is fitted to the roof hips.

Bushfire survival

The State Building Commission and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) have both produced publications about bushfire survival for homeowners.
Both of these documents recommend a METAL mesh gutter guard.
